Donelson reaches east to the Stones River, which separates it from Hermitage, with Lebanon Pike and Elm Hill Pike crossing it and Donelson Pike heading south to the airport. Two Rivers Park and Two Rivers Mansion sit on the north side near the Cumberland, and the WeGo Star commuter train stops at Donelson station. Much of it filled in after World War II, so the classic Donelson house is a brick ranch on a good-sized yard with wood trim and a low roofline. Yes. Donelson is a neighborhood inside Nashville and Davidson County, governed by Metro. It has its own long history and identity, and older residents still think of it as its own community. For painting, any approvals usually come from an HOA if you have one, or from Metro if you are changing materials.
If the brick is in good shape and you like the color, leaving it alone costs nothing to maintain. Painting makes sense when the brick looks dated or patchy from past repairs. Once painted, it will need repainting every so often. We will look at the brick and mortar at the estimate and give you an honest opinion.
Not directly. Latex applied straight over oil often peels in sheets. We scuff-sand the old finish, clean it and use a bonding primer first. Then the new coats hold. Many Donelson ranches have original oil-based trim and doors, so we test for it during the estimate and plan the prep.
